David Martyn

What motivated you to start DJing/presenting?
I’ve always loved pop music, spent my pocket money on records as a kid, it just made sense to play them for other people.
Djing/presenting : These days a bit of both but DJing is my job.
What styles do you play?
I never restrict myself to specific genres but the Sacrilege Radio show is about BIG tunes, House, Bassline, Tech, Garage, Trance and more. Out live you’ll hear me play Drum and Bass, R&B, Pop, really anything to make a floor move.
Do you mix or scratch or both? Or are you more of a presenter?
Sometimes it sounds like I couldn’t mix an Angel Delight and the only thing I’ve ever scratched is my a**e.
Do you play on just one of danceradiouk.com’s stations or both?
Dance UK every Saturday 7-9pm and I love being able to pop up on Box UK occasionally to play totally different music.
Outside of danceradiouk.com, who are your favourite DJ’s, bands or music artists and how have they influenced your style (if they have)?
Armand Van Helden pushed dance music in a totally different direction in the 90s so will always be my go to producer. Marc Kinchen is still sounding fresh. James Hype has made DJs look at the performance side of playing out.
What other interests do you have besides DJing/presenting on the radio?
Stamp collecting and origami…..no, actually Italian and French cars, and going to warmer places.
