Adi Brown
What motivated you to start DJing/presenting?
The love of soul music, then a progression to do mix tapes & friends parties.
What styles do you play?
House:- Soulful, Deep, Jackin, Classic, Nu Disco, some Tech House and I have played Trance, Techno, D&B when playing out in clubs, but I also play soul, R&B & Hip Hop too.
Do you mix or scratch or both? Or are you more of a presenter?
I can mix, digitally and classic vinyl, I can scratch a bit but not good enough to do it live lol,… I like to think I am a DJ and a presenter
Do you play on just one of danceradiouk.com’s stations or both?
Only play on dance uk.. not a pop jock any more
Outside of danceradiouk.com, who are your favourite DJ’s, bands or music artists and how have they influenced your style (if they have)?
Wow. What a question, at my age – so many different genres
My main influence on my music & dj career as to be Earth, Wind & Fire, I am a mega soul music fan too, 70’s & 80’s, but also R&B from 90’s & 00’s.
House Music also shares that passion for the music I love, influences from Frankie Knuckles & David Morales, Full Intention for quality grooves and share joy it brings, todays I would say Sebb Junior, Groove Assassins, Micky More & Andy Tee, but also Above & Beyond (seriously)
What other interests do you have besides DJing/presenting on the radio?
The usual Football – for my sins a Forest fan, live music, travelling, walking & family
Favourite things?
Music, Daughter & Grandson, beautiful places on Planet Earth, Good Food, biscuits, beer & whiskey lol
Sum yourself up in a sentence?
Relentless Funky Optimism
Your desert island discs?
That’s The Way Of The World – Earth Wind & Fire
The rest is a question I really struggle to answer, so many..
Anything else?
Music is life, which can describe so much and tell the world, how you feel.
