What motivated you to start DJing/presenting?
Back around 1989 I was at a house party and my mate had some decks. They were a Citronic deck/mixer combo, no pitch control. He was playing Bizarre Inc – Playing With Knives and something else, can’t remember. Anyway, I was fascinated by them and bought them off of him. Those things really taught me to beatmatch. You had to wind the records round with your finger to keep them in time. The crossfader was like a mile long from side to side!!!
What styles do you play?
Mostly House but have been going back to my Techno roots and I will be playing that fused with House on the show.
Do you mix or scratch or both? Or are you more of a presenter?
I’ve never presented before. Don’t scratch at all. I’m rubbish. I do admire the skills though. I’m more about the long blend if you know what I mean.
Do you play on just one of danceradiouk.com’s stations or both?
Just the one.
Outside of danceradiouk.com, who are your favourite DJ’s, bands or music artists and how have they influenced your style (if they have)?
Vril, Benjamin Damage, Untold, FJAAK, Ben Sims, Third Deck, Prince of Denmark, Telrae Records, LoSoul, SCION, so many more I could mention. You’ll hear them in my shows…..
I like the soundscapes they create. It’s something I keep striving for when I mix. It’s a lifetime learning process.
What other interests do you have besides DJing/presenting on the radio?
Skateboarding, technology, video games, music production, cooking and travelling. I do that as often as I can.
My cat Max, my mixing gear, my PC
Sum yourself up in a sentence?
Ageing B-Boy and self confessed cheesy quaver………
Your desert island discs?
Basic Channel – Arrange & Process (SCION)
Vril – Mnml Message
LoSoul – Open Door
